Monastery reopening after temporary closure

We are pleased to announce the reopening of the monastery and a return to the usual daily routine. Several residents and lay guests have fully recovered from Covid and more than a week has gone by with no new infections.

Evening puja and meditation at 7.30 pm is starting again, every day except Monday. On the full and new moon days (according to the Thai calendar) the evening puja will usually be extended, with a Dhamma talk around 8:30 pm and meditation continuing until midnight. These will be included in the calendar on our homepage. The next new moon day is Saturday 30th April.

On Sunday 1st May and Saturday 7th May at 5 pm there will be question and answers sessions. A guided meditation and general introduction for beginners is scheduled to take place on Sunday 8th May at 5 pm.

We hope to be able to hold a public Vesak ceremony on Sunday 15th May, to celebrate the Birth, Enlightenment and Parinibbana of the Buddha, but this depends on what anti-covid restrictions will still be in place next month. We will send information nearer the time and the monastery website will be regularly updated.
